Foundry Bloodstock respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand).


This statement explains how information is handled during the Foundry pilot.


Information we collect


When you take part in the Foundry pilot, we may collect:


  • your name

  • your email address or other contact details

  • information you provide about your mare and proposed sire

  • information you provide when contacting Foundry

  • feedback you provide about your Foundry assessment or pilot experience


We only collect information reasonably necessary to provide and evaluate the pilot.


How we use your information


Information collected during the pilot may be used to:


  • provide your Foundry assessment

  • communicate with you about your assessment

  • follow up regarding your participation in the pilot

  • collect and review pilot feedback

  • improve and refine the Foundry assessment process, methodology and service

  • evaluate whether the Foundry service provides sufficient value for further development


Pilot feedback may also be analysed in an aggregated or de-identified form to help understand how useful the service is to breeders.


Sharing your information


Foundry does not sell your personal information.


Personal information will only be shared where reasonably necessary to operate the service, with service providers supporting Foundry's systems, or where disclosure is required by law.


Storage and security


Foundry takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure.


Information may be stored using third-party technology and cloud service providers used to operate the Foundry pilot.


Personal information will only be retained for as long as reasonably required for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.


Your assessment information


Information you provide about a mare, sire or proposed mating is used to prepare and improve the Foundry assessment service.


Foundry assessments consider pedigree information and mating compatibility within the scope described in the assessment. Information supplied for an assessment does not expand the scope of the Foundry assessment beyond those stated boundaries.


Your rights


You may request access to personal information Foundry holds about you and ask for that information to be corrected if it is inaccurate.
